‘Intervention’ Host Ken Seeley Says Helping Users Do Drugs Safely Can Save Lives

Interventionist Ken Seeley says major cities with sites for addicts to use drugs safely are important in the fight to save lives and reduce overdose deaths across the country.

The “Intervention” star joined “TMZ Live” on Monday to talk about the unconventional ways that American cities and states are tackling the drug overdose crisis.

Ken tells us that safe injection sites where drug users are supervised and equipped with needles and rubber bracelets – are key to helping prevent overdoses…now the leading cause of death among 18-45 year olds.

These sites are already being promoted in states like New York and are being considered in California…while other states, like Oregon, are decriminalizing hard drugs in an attempt to stop deaths.

He says injection sites allow users to get information for treatment and to test their substances for fentanyl…and that’s making a difference in big cities.

BTW, Ken notes that there’s a downside to these sorts of ads being plastered in cities and subway stations, where kids and teens can see them…but he says it’s a sword to behold. double-edged sword and it’s a way to prevent the deaths that happen everywhere.
