Henri ruggs is set to make his second public appearance since his fatal car crash last week – the ex-Raiders star is due in court in minutes … and he is set to be formally charged with five counts while he is there.
The 22-year-old, accused of getting drunk, accelerating in his car and then killing a woman and her dog in a wreck in Las Vegas last Tuesday, has a hearing scheduled for 7:30 a.m.
Prosecutors are expected to officially announce five counts against him – including four felonies and one misdemeanor – and Ruggs could plead afterwards.
Of course, the last time anyone saw Ruggs in public was last Wednesday – just over 24 hours after his accident – when he showed up in court for a bail hearing with a neck brace and a wheelchair.
At that hearing, Ruggs was reprimanded by officials … with a judge noting that he had never seen a case where the accused was accused of traveling at such high speed.
As we previously reported, law enforcement says Ruggs reached 156 MPH in his Corvette before hitting it in the back of a Toyota around 3:40 a.m.
The collision was so violent that it started a fire in the Toyota which kill Tina Tintor and his golden retriever.
Prosecutors said blood tests revealed Ruggs had a blood alcohol level of 0.161 – more than twice the legal limit of 0.08 – and they said last week he could incur up to 46 years in prison for all this.
We’ll cover the case as Ruggs goes before the judge … stay tuned.
