8:27 a.m. PT – Ruggs has not been ordered to return to jail for the failed test, but the judge has ruled that he will now have to undergo 24/7 alcohol monitoring.
The judge ordered Ruggs to wear an ankle device that will measure the levels of alcohol in his system through his skin. The NFL player had previously tested his alcohol levels through a portable device.
Ruggs did not speak to members of the media as he left the courtroom. He is due to return to court shortly for another hearing in his DUI case in December.
Henri ruggs is back in the public eye … the ex-Raiders star just showed up at a Las Vegas courthouse after a judge ordered him to appear for a failed breathalyzer test.
Ruggs entered the field wearing a black shirt, black pants, and a black bow tie – and apparently walked without a hitch.
Of course, the last time we saw Ruggs in public was in a courtroom on November 3, the day after he was charged with crashing his Corvette into a Toyota and kill a woman and his dog.
At that hearing, where Ruggs posted bail and was released, the football player was seen with a neck brace and a wheelchair.
The 22-year-old, however, appeared to be doing very well on Monday morning… showing no signs of long-term injuries sustained in the crash.
As we previously reported, Ruggs was ordered to appear before a judge Monday after he allegedly missed a required breathalyzer test.
As part of the conditions of his release, Ruggs was ordered to undergo blood alcohol tests several times a day – and at a hearing last week, a judge said he missed the one of those recordings.
It is possible that Ruggs will be sent back to jail for all of this – the hearing to discuss the matter is currently underway. We will keep you informed of its evolution.
