Whereas Henry CavillSuperman’s future remains undecided, comic Twitter is angry after someone suggested he probably won’t return…because he’s a dinosaur.
The theory was posted by YouTuber/blogger Matt Jarbowho said last week that Cavill was unlikely to reprise the role – despite numerous requests that he do so – because he felt HC had gotten a little too old and maybe a little too expensive.
For #SupermanDay I would like to remind people that #HenryCavill definitely getting old from playing the role of this @wbd look for
He hasn’t worn the suit in 5 years and WBD will want someone younger that costs less
Sorry if this bothers you https://t.co/jZva9yNMF6

He wrote: “A month ago Henry Cavill turned 39. He started playing Superman before he was 30 and hasn’t filmed anything new for 5 years. It’s safe to say be mistaken that he no longer has the role. Sad as it is, WBD will definitely push for a younger actor to take on the role.”
On Sunday, which happened to be Superman Day, he doubled down – saying Cavill was over the hill, not what Warner Bros. Discovery wanted … especially in terms of price.

But it was the comment about Matt’s age that got people doing a double take…because yeah, Cavill might be in his late thirties – but the dude still looks great…far from to be an old geyser.
Of course, a lot about the ism has been offered…many pointing to a number of “older” actors who have been tapped for superhero roles in the recent past, including some other DC alums. as Jason Momoa and Gal Gadotwho are in their 40s and late 30s respectively.
Keaton, 70, can play Batman, Levi, 41, can play Shazam, Jason Momoa, 43, can play Aquaman and The Rock, 50, can play Black Adam, but Henry Cavill, 39, is too old for play Superman. What kind of logic is that? 👺 https://t.co/AGWHC63Mz7 pic.twitter.com/7higP3wPV6

There is also Dwayne Johnson – who is set to don a cape as Black Adam in his 50s, no less – as well as Robert Downey Jr.who also became Iron Man somewhat later in life.
While Matt didn’t elaborate much on his old man assumption, what he seems to be saying is that he thinks WBD wants to go in a whole new direction with the character…maybe even a young one. Superman in his twenties or early thirties. , much like they did with “The Batman”.
Waiting for your permission to load Instagram media.
As for the mulah, yes… Cavill would be expensive to hire. He had already earned a substantial salary in his first race and is in even greater demand now. A lesser-known actor could be hired for a lot less money and just as much fanfare. More importantly, HC seems to have recovered. He didn’t even post Superman stuff today, and that’s him!
It seems to come down to regret among the fanbase that Cavill was grossly underutilized in his heyday, and now that WBD is moving on… people can’t let go.
Is Cavill too geyser to play supes???
But on the question of being too old to start over (if he and Warner wanted to), is Henry really old??? We’ll let people answer for themselves…he seems pretty sharp to us.
Our sincere thanks to
