Gunnais still locked up, but there’s a company reaping the benefits of his clothing choice when he surrendered…clients flood his site to look like their favorite rapper.
Gunna was booked on the RICO charges Wednesday in Fulton County, and although his photo ID looked a little blurry, some eagle-eyed fans couldn’t help but notice the logo on the sweatshirt. hoodie he wore – it’s a brand called LaRopa.
We spoke to a rep from the clothing company who tells us about the day Gunna’s passport photo was launched, the brand recorded a 15% increase in sales of the hoodie, compared to a normal day.
Not only did sales jump on Wednesday, but the trend continued on Thursday as well…with the top up 24%.
We’re told that Gunna has no stake in the company…he just happens to have been wearing it when he was arrested. However, he’s not the only celebrity to rock LaRopa in the past… Playboy Carti, Bella Hadid, Erika Jayne and young thug — who is also locked up on related charges – have all been spotted at LaRopa before.
TMZ broke the story, Gunna’s lawyers claimed the rapper was innocent, hammering the cops for use words against him and highlighting the many things Gunna has done for his community – including helping to feed around 400 students a week.
