Grab to launch new ride services GrabPet XL, GrabCar Exec on May 25

Grab announced today (May 6) that it will expand its transport offerings with the upcoming launch of two new premium on-demand transport options on May 25.

The new driving options are GrabCar Exec, a fleet of luxury vehicles that serve consumers who want to travel in style and comfort; and GrabPet XL, which targets consumers with more pets.

GrabCar Exec offers a limo-style service focused on quality of service, an option for consumers looking for a special ride for events or special occasions.

It should be noted that Ryde, another rideshare player, also recently launched a new premium transportation service called RydeLUXE, which targets the same demographic.

GrabCar Exec will be served by a fleet of premium four- and six-seater vehicles, which includes the BMW 5 Series, Mercedes Benz E-Class, Mercedes-Benz V220 and Toyota Vellfire models.

Passengers can also take advantage of a variety of amenities, including phone charging and child booster seats.

In addition, GrabCar Exec driver-partners will be required to undergo professional training and are also advised to dress professionally to enhance the overall consumer experience.

More room for pets and passengers

GrabPet XL is essentially an improved version of the existing GrabPet service. The service would use larger vehicle models, allowing the transport of more passengers and pets.

For example, a GrabPet XL vehicle can carry three passengers and three small to medium sized pets (up to 41cm in length) or two large pets (41cm in length or more) in one trip. In contrast, GrabPet can accommodate up to two passengers, two small to medium sized pets, or one large pet.

All pets authorized by the Animal and Veterinary Service (except birds) are permitted on the service.

All vehicles are equipped with foldable pet seat covers and adjustable leashes to ensure the animals’ comfort and safety during their journey. In addition, Grab provides insurance coverage for traveling pets for the period of transit.

“Our consumers rely heavily on the Grab platform for their mobility needs. They are extremely diverse and it is important that our range of services can meet their different needs, in areas such as quality, safety, convenience and more. We have specifically created GrabPet XL and GrabCar Exec to respond to feedback and inquiries from our consumers and driver partners, ”said Andrew Chan, Managing Director, Transport, Grab Singapore.

He added that with these new services, it will help create more income opportunities for his driver-partners.

Interested consumers will soon be able to book these services through the Grab app. Rides start at S $ 16 for GrabPet XL and $ 15 for GrabCar Exec.
