Erik Menendez Gets Weed Delivered to Him in Prison, Investigation Launched
Someone sent a notorious prisoner Erik Menendez a weed from the outside – and now the officials are trying to find out if he was in … TMZ has learned.
Sources with first-hand knowledge tell us … Menendez was placed in segregation on Monday at RJ Donovan Correctional Center in San Diego – where he is currently incarcerated – after a mail arrived … a package containing a bunch of ‘grass. The area where he is housed is called the administrative segregation unit.
We are told that the package of marijuana was intercepted by prison staff. Prison officials have opened an investigation … and we’re told that one of the things they want to know is if Erik was planning on handing out the weed or using it as cash, or if it was just for its personal use.
Our sources say Menendez was locked in a separate wing away from other detainees. Before the incident, he was able to interact with other inmates in the yard, but for now, pending investigation, he is alone.
If prison officials concluded that Erik had asked someone outside to send him the weed, the case would be referred to the prosecutor for prosecution.
It’s a bit irrelevant … the guy – with his brother, Lyle – is already serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole for killing his parents with a shotgun in 89.
