‘Edward Scissorhands’ Family Home Sells to Fans of the Film
A family of “Edward Scissorhands” fans picked up the Boggs house featured in the film, and instead of getting it at a discount … they paid a little extra to seal the deal.
We broke history … the Florida home used for exterior and interior photos in the 1990s Tim burton cult classic – with Johnny depp and Winona ryder – went on the market last month for $ 224,000, with new colors and renovations.
It didn’t take long for it to attract the interest of several buyers, but we are told that a family with children pushed the hardest and bought the house for $ 6,000 above the asking price.
It turns out buyers love the movie, and the husband grew up in the area. We are told that he saw some of the “Scissorhands” being shot in the town of Lutz, a suburb of Tampa, as a child.
Our sources say the famous movie house received a dozen offers in its first week on the market and officially closed its doors last week.
The 1,432 square foot residence has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, including a fully renovated master bathroom. Along with the upgrades, it still has some original charming attributes from the movie … like kitchen cabinets and countertops.
Boggs’ newly sold home has been listed by Stacie Savoy of Berkshire Hathaway Florida Properties Group.
