Don Don Donki Opens First Malaysian Outlet At Lot 10, Bukit Bintang

The Don Don Donki discount store (better known as Don Quijote in Japan) has finally opened in Lot 10, Bukit Bintang 9 months after the announcement of its launch in Malaysia.

Its very first outlet spans 3 floors and sells a variety of imported yet affordable Japanese products that catch the attention of locals who love the same.

In Japan, there were over 580 Don Quijote stores, with 12 Don Don Donki stores overseas as of July 7, 2020, due to the popularity of its offerings.

The Lot 10 outlet opened at 10 a.m. today and social media users shared snapshots of a queue that apparently spanned 4 floors. Safe to say, the Malays were delighted to see the place for themselves.

Inside, the store sells all kinds of products ranging from home appliances to food and even skin care. As for food, it offers a selection of Halal certified products and does not serve alcohol or pork.

When purchasing in store, users can download and register for the DONKI app as a member to earn dMiles points which they can use to redeem coupons.

Those interested in seeing what the store has to offer but dislike the long lines (which we think we see for a while), the official Don Donki Malaysia Facebook page also announced later. that they were now on Shopee.

It has fewer deals than you will find in the store, but there are still 2 pages of noodles, sweets and drinks to go. Depending on the team, they can also deliver nationwide.

Before Don Don Donki even opened his first outlet here, it had already been announced that he would have a second outlet at Tropicana Gardens Mall, Petaling Jaya also in 2021.

Depending on the franchise’s performance in Malaysia, it could open 11 more stores by 2024, said Satoshi Machida, president of Pan Pacific Retail Management (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, which owns and operates Don Don Donki here.
