Dave Chappelle is giving back after his weekend performance in Buffalo, NY … making what will be a significant donation to the families of the victims who were killed in the recent mass shooting in that city.
Chappelle took the stage Sunday at Shea’s Performing Arts Center, and we confirmed that he will be donating all proceeds from his ticket sales to the Buffalo community directly impacted by the May 14 tragedy.
This is a 3,000 seat venue so Dave’s final check for families should be impressive. The decision to do the stand-up concert in Buffalo was made at the last minute – Dave announced it on Wednesday and tickets sold out in less than an hour.
As noted, at least 10 people were killedmost of whom were black … after a man opened fire with a semi-automatic weapon at a Tops Friendly Market grocery store.
The 18-year-old shooter drove several hours across New York State to the predominantly African-American neighborhood. Not only did he go live on social media during the attack, he had previously released a manifesto declaring himself a white supremacist.
This staunch white supremacist specifically traveled to a low-income black neighborhood in Buffalo NY to carry out a mass shooting. These types of white supremacists are ALLOWED to sit online and plan these attacks and nothing is being done to thwart this type of anti-black terrorism. pic.twitter.com/jGmO32PyHB

He was taken into custody and has since pleaded not guilty. The FBI is investigating the case as a federal hate crime.
