Dave Chappelle clashes with HS students over trans controversy
As we reported, Dave visited his old high school in November as he took heat for his jokes about the transgender community.
Things warmed up when he invited students who disagreed to speak at an assembly. A student stood up and called him a bigot, adding, “I’m 16 and I think you’re childish.” Some students wanted the school to reverse its decision to name the building after him.
Dave challenged both supporters and opponents – asking both sides to raise money for the school, and if the opponents raised more money, he would gladly forfeit the honor of having the building renamed.

In the end, his supporters raised the most money, so the building would be called the Dave Chappelle Theater.
