Dave Chappelle is the new owner of a large property…a purchase he made to prevent a real estate developer from moving into the quiet Ohio village that has been his home.
Dave’s representatives confirm that he recently purchased several acres of land in Yellow Springs, Ohio that was previously owned by Oberer Land Developers, Ltd. – a company that had announced plans for a huge housing estate that would have eaten up 52 acres of the village.

As you know, Dave arrived with guns in February when the Yellow Springs City Council held a town hall meeting.
Chappelle made it very clear that he opposed to Oberer to go ahead with the project and threatened to withdraw his own business venture for the area – a planned restaurant/comedy club called Firehouse Eatery.
Council eventually approved the development, but now it appears that Dave has blocked – or at least scaled back – the subdivision plan by grabbing part of Oberer’s property.
According to a local report, Dave purchased at least 19 acres. We try to confirm this, because the big question is whether the comedian is still at war with the developer after his last blow of real estate failure.
