10:29 a.m. Pacific Time – According to reports, Erikson was seen raising his hand and appeared to be conscious as he was taken off the pitch – which seems to suggest he might be fine. Thank God. 👏🏽
Christian Eriksen – a Danish football player, who is one of the stars of the national team – has just suffered a frightening emergency in the first round of the UEFA European Championship… collapsing on the pitch and requiring immediate medical attention.
The 29-year-old midfielder fell to the ground on Saturday in Denmark’s Euro 2020 game against Finland near the end of the first half. He was running back and was about to receive a ball thrown at him by one of his teammates, when suddenly … Eriksen flipped over without provocation – without being hit by another player or whatever. it would be.
Everyone around him immediately recognized that he was suffering from an emergency and asked the referee to stop play – all the while greeting the team medics and other available first responders. Images were captured from the terrifying moment… and it is clear that he had passed out.
Reports indicate that Eriksen was given CPR on the spot before he was transported on a stretcher for further treatment. His team – including players on the other side – were particularly worried, a majority of them taking a knee out of respect… a tradition in football.
His teammates also tied their arms around Ericksen and formed a sort of wall – apparently to give him privacy while being looked after. No word yet on his status or what may have caused the collapse. Of course, everyone sends their thoughts and prayers.
