Dana White says it was a UFC “huge f ***” for not showing the former president Donald trump during the Conor McGregor fight card.
The UFC prez tells TMZ Sports the dud was a mix of his production team dropping the ball, a technical glitch, and the unpredictability of live television.
The way Dana explains it … there was a plan in place to show Trump sitting near the Octagon. The cameras were supposed to go from some big-name celebrities to the old Prez… but things didn’t go according to script.
“We were getting ready to show him right between the main and main events, I think you remember we showed OBJ. We showed OBJ, then he was supposed to go to David spade, 2 channels, then the president, and we had a little problem in the truck. Then the Conor fight ended in the 2nd round, so we never got the chance. “
White continued… “Let me tell you what, some big shit from my production crew, but you know it’s live TV and these things happen.”
We got a video of DT arriving at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas halfway up the main map … and you see Trump greeted by Dana and receive a nice standing ovation from the crowded crowd.
But, Trump was never seen on the show … which has led some to speculate that something bad was going on with the ESPN show.
Dana says this is NOT the case … telling us that every former president deserves to be shown on TV, regardless of political affiliation.
While Dana is obviously upset with her production crew … Trump isn’t bothered by his lack of time in front of television.
