Dana White Asks Trump to Help Save Iranian Wrestling Champ Sentenced to Death
Head of the UFC Dana white personally called President Trump to ask for help to save an Iranian wrestling champion who needs to be executed … and POTUS has already taken action.
As we stated earlier, 27 years Navid Afkari received TWO death sentences for allegedly participating in a peaceful protest against the government in 2018.
Afkari is a decorated wrestler in Iran who has medalized in several national tournaments, according to multiple reports.
When White learned of the situation, the UFC honcho said he felt compelled to do something because “he’s one of us, could be one of my fighters.”
“The only thing I thought I would do was call the president and see if he could help this man,” White said.
“[Trump] said, “Let’s take a look at this, let me talk to my administration and see if there’s anything we can do to save his life.” “
President Trump took to Twitter to address the Iranian leadership.
“Hearing that Iran is seeking to execute a big star of the popular struggle, Navid Afkarai, 27, whose only act was an anti-government demonstration in the streets. They were protesting against” the deteriorating economic situation of the country and inflation “.”
He continued, “To the Iranian leadership, I would very much appreciate you sparing the life of this young man and not executing him.”
White also had a message for Iran – “I would just like to say that I too, with respect and humility, call on Iranian government officials not to execute this man and to spare his life.”
Our sincere thanks to
