Colin Kaepernick could be back in the NFL as soon as next month … as the quarterback has scheduled a practice with the Raiders — and if all goes well, the team could sign him to a contract.
ESPN adam schefter just broke the news…reporting that the trial will end in a few days.
Kaepernick has been preparing for it like crazy for years – but has recently stepped up his training over the past few months for this exact moment.
As we reported, the 34-year-old has been touring the country since the end of winter a few months ago, throwing wide receivers in various cities every week.

And, during one of his final stops in Washington, he pleaded with NFL general managers to simply give him a try …explaining: “I think my talent, my skills will speak for itself.”
The owner of the Raiders, Mark Davishas always been open to giving Kaepernick that chance – saying in April he believed the guy could still play.
“[Kaepernick] sacrificed a lot of things he could have done in his life to spread a message about police brutality, fairness and inclusion in America, and I stand by that.”

“If our coaches and our general manager want to bring him in or want him to be the quarterback for this team,” Davis said, “I would welcome him with open arms.”
The Raiders currently have several quarterbacks on the roster … but none outside of Derek Carr has the experience that Kaepernick – who hasn’t played since the 2016 season – has in the league.
