Ariel founded BYKURAHOME in early 2020, with a mission to end throwaway culture, one habit at a time.

Through a panel discussion, the team found that consumers often have negative associations with sustainable product offerings, perceiving them to be inferior, less aesthetic, and more expensive.

She wanted to solve these problems with BYKURAHOME, a multi-brand retailer offering durable and easy-to-use products.

According to Ariel, all BYKURAHOME products combine functionality with a sense of aesthetics.

“We have effectively demonstrated that durable products can transcend their utilitarian functions and integrate aesthetically and easily into our modern day-to-day life, just by making small changes,” she told Vulcan Post in an interview.

At first, the team imported products from overseas, but quickly realized that they could draw on their design and manufacturing experience to produce their own product lines.

“This not only allowed us to deliver products that meet our technical specifications, but more importantly, it allowed us to express our vision of how sustainable products can be aesthetically pleasing and become an integral part of our lives. daily, ”Ariel said.

For example, their bestsellers – the Mojo Silicone Bag and the Mojo Snack Pouch – are made without plastic fillers to meet European standards for food contact. These regulations are stricter than those in the United States.

In addition, its Oliver Park line of reusable tote bags use 100% ripstop nylon fabric, which is guaranteed to hold more weight and last longer than the traditional polyester fabric used by most other brands of reusable bags. .

BYKURAHOME was launched just before the implementation of Covid-19 and managed to become a profitable business from the start.

However, like many other businesses, it has faced challenges related to the pandemic, such as shortages of inventory and shipping delays.

Despite this, Ariel said sales have grown 400% for two consecutive months since its debut, and have been steadily increasing since.
