The Cleveland Browns field crew rushed to plant grass right after Machine Gun Kellythe comeback gig at FirstEnergy Stadium on Saturday… but it wasn’t because the show had gotten too rowdy — TMZ Sports he is told that it was all part of the plan.
The Cleveland native performed in front of a packed crowd last Saturday … giving a bloody performance that even included ziplining the entire stadium.
There’s only one thing people are worried about – Cleveland hosts the Philadelphia Eagles for a preseason game on Sunday … which means if the field were to be damaged during the concert, the team could be in trouble .
Ultimately, we’re told that wasn’t the case at all … because the Browns expected to replace the field after the show, regardless of its shape.
The team tells us that the “Mainstream Sellout” concert marked the end of the stadium’s summer concert dates…so after the rapper/rocker and the fans left the venue, it was the best opportunity to laying new turf for the start of the Browns’ 2022 campaign.
There were rumblings that the grass just wouldn’t be ready in time for the 1pm kick-off on the 21st…but according to our sources, that won’t be a problem.
Safe to say the hometown hero will be welcome.
Our sincere thanks to
