Britney spears hopes it’s “with the old and with the new” in his tutelage – a new hearing in the case is underway, and his hand-picked new lawyer will get the spotlight.
Brit’s Guardianship Judge will hear arguments Wednesday in downtown LA on several issues – the most important to Britney – is who her lawyer will be in the future.
As we first told you … Britney’s longtime lawyer, Sam ingham, has filed documents seeking to withdraw from the case, and she has already decided she wants the former federal prosecutor Matthieu Rosengart to be his new lawyer.
TMZ broke history … Britney wants to hire Rosengart, of Greenberg Traurig, LLP, and he is expected to appear before the judge to make his plea for the job. We are told that he will argue that she has the right to choose her own lawyer of her own free will, without her father, Jamie, getting in his way as curator of his estate.
Keep in mind that Jamie is probably a bit conflicted because Rosengart will probably seek to delete Jamie as the curator of Britney’s estate.
We’re told her plan is to explain how Britney has a constitutional due process right… which includes the ability to select any lawyer she chooses. This certainly exists in a criminal case, and it is likely that Rosengart will argue that the guardianship is similar to a criminal case because it deprives Britney of his personal freedom.
Remember … the last audience had all kinds of fireworks … like Britney testified before the judge – accusing her family of using her and controlling her life through the Guardianship, including allegedly forcing her to tour.
She claims she couldn’t get married or have more children – which she apparently wants with Sam asghari – and was clear … she wants to end the guardianship …
We are monitoring the debates as they unfold, as well as the commotion outside – because there are #FreeBritney protesters rallying, as they have been doing for months now. There are also protesters gathered in DC
