Britney Spears’ Dad Says Too Soon for Her to Weigh in on Conservatorship
Britney spears is in the process of making decisions about the future of her guardianship … according to her father, who says the court needs to make other big decisions about Brit’s health first.
Jamie spears just filed new documents, obtained by TMZ, claiming Britney’s attorney is grand in trying to unseal portions of her ongoing trusteeship case … by opening it to the public.
In the documents, Britney’s father says that before she can waive her right to privacy, the court must determine that she has “the capacity to understand the consequences of her waiver.”
Jamie pleads to keep her medical records sealed, and says he fears they could have a detrimental effect on Britney if the public gets a hold of them. He also says keeping this information sealed is in the best interests of Britney and her 2 children.
Britney’s father also addresses statement of his lawyer about Britney wanting more “personal autonomy” in her life now that she isn’t playing. In his documents, Jamie points out that the guardianship is voluntary and that Britney can file a termination request at any time – but not until now.
As we reported … Britney says she does not want his father be solely responsible for his financial decisions, and instead wishes to add a co-custodian of his estate.
Jamie says that guardianship of his estate (finances) is “inextricably linked” to guardianship of himself (medical) … and argues that revealing a person’s details could expose sensitive medical issues.
