Britney spears shouldn’t have to foot the bill for 24-hour security guards to Jodi montgomery, his personal curator … at least according to Britney’s father.
Jamie spears has filed an objection to Montgomery’s demand for increased security following what she calls a flood of death threats since Britney testified. Jamie’s reaction to that is, basically… welcome to the club.
In the documents, obtained by TMZ, Jamie says he has been receiving threats for years, as has Brit’s lawyer, Sam ingham, and others related to the guardianship. However, he is not totally cold-hearted, saying the court should assess the level of security needed to keep Jodi and others involved safe.
It bristles at the cost of 24/7 security – which Jodi herself estimated at over $ 50,000 a month – and says the domain can’t afford that kind of cost for several people over an extended period. Jamie also says that if the estate covers this expense for Jodi, there will be others who make similar onerous protection claims.
TMZ broke the story … there are already tensions between Jamie and Jodi because he suggested she was to blame for most of what Britney complained about in her testimony. His rejection of her request for protection won’t help.
According to the documents, Jamie suggests that Jodi and the court consider other security measures… like calling the local sheriff’s department – which Jodi herself says she has done before.
The judge will have the final say on Jodi’s request for safety.
