Transportation company ComfortDelGro announced today (June 7) that it will consolidate its taxi, private bus, car rental and leasing and lifestyle businesses under a new division called the Private Mobility Group.
According to the company, this decision aims to synergize and take advantage of its main strengths in land transport solutions, while facilitating customer access to the Group’s various services.
As part of this plan, ComfortDelGro will launch a “mega app” that will allow customers to choose from a variety of service offerings from a single platform by early next year.
Basically, customers can use the app to book taxi, private bus, car rental, and leasing services.
For example, taxi users can choose to rent a car for the weekend by simply clicking the “One CDG” option on the app. The new PMG will have a combined fleet of over 12,000 vehicles.
The app will also include lifestyle options such as restaurant reservations which are currently available on its Zig app.
Jackson Chia, head of the Private Mobility Group, said the company also plans to add other services to the group, such as learner driving services and medical transportation in the future.
“The intention is to commercialize the wide range of CDG transportation solutions to enable convenience to the different communities we serve,” he said.
“The ComfortDelGro group offers a wide range of mobility solutions in Singapore. Pooling PMG resources will allow us to develop smart and green intermodal mobility solutions for our customers. Thanks to our scale and our diverse range of assets, we will be in a better position to forge partnerships to experiment and offer innovative products and services.
