His friend says Alonzo almost got into a fight with a guy for a girl – but he always stayed at the party, even after his friends left. He never returned home.

The next day, Brooks’ boots and hat were found in front of the party property. However, his body was not discovered until May 1, 2004 in a nearby cove.
Early medical reports indicated his death was inconclusive due to the body’s advanced decomposition, and authorities were left with little concrete evidence. However, his relatives were certain that he had not accidentally committed suicide or drowned … they believed he had been murdered.
The FBI now calls his death a hate crime and has also offered a reward of $ 100,000 for information leading to an arrest. Based on the exhumation of Alonzo’s body, first reported by KSNT, there may be serious progress in the matter.
