A man was shot dead at a Black Lives Matter protest in Austin on Saturday night.
The protest was largely peaceful, with cops monitoring the scene, when a confrontation broke out and 5 shots rang out.
Before opening fire, the gunman, who was driving a car, sped at the protesters in an apparent attempt to hit them.
The victim, identified as Garrett foster, allegedly demonstrated, carrying a rifle and approached the gunman’s car, and it was there that he was struck.
Mother of Foster, Sheila, claims his son was pushing his fiancee in a wheelchair before the shooting. She said, “This gentleman got out of his car and started shooting, and my son was shot three times.”
The suspect has been arrested and is in custody. The cops say he’s cooperating.
The victim reportedly carried a gun and approached a vehicle. The man inside the car shot the victim.
