Beto O’Rourke Gone is the game of playing nice guy — especially when it comes to people laughing at the Robb Elementary massacre — stopping a man with a brash insult.
O’Rourke was at a campaign stop Wednesday in Mineral Wells, Texas … a town about 260 miles from Uvalde. The governor’s hopeful spoke about the shooting that killed 19 students and 2 teachers, mocking the AR-15 rifles – which O’Rourke says have no place in civilian hands.
As Beto described how the weapons were designed for warfare, a man at the back of the crowd, who was reportedly a supporter of the governor. Greg Abbottbegan to laugh obnoxiously.
Without a beat, Beto turned around, addressed the man and said, “It might be funny for you, mother f****r, but it’s not funny for me. .” The crowd erupted.
Of course, O’Rourke has challenged Abbott and the Texas Republicans since the day of shooting take action and create tougher gun laws – even to show up at a press conference held by Governor Abbott to urge him to do something.
Shortly after calling the heckler from Mineral Wells, he tweeted, “Nothing more serious to me than getting justice for the families of Uvalde and preventing this from happening again.”
