Bear Eats Human Remains in Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Wild bears are still VERY dangerous … don’t be fooled by the recent cute furry beast videos because they still have an appetite for human flesh !!!
Here’s the deal … hikers in North Carolina’s Great Smoky Mountains National Park stumbled upon a grizzly bear scene this weekend when they discovered a black bear eating human remains.
Hikers say they were passing by what they believed to be an abandoned campsite around 7 p.m. Friday when they found human body parts scattered throughout the area, with a bear searching the remains. Yikes!
Park officials say rangers arrived at Campground 82 shortly after midnight and found an adult male dead … and a bear, presumably the same the hikers spotted, “actively searching the remains.”
The bear is dead now too … park rangers euthanized the wild animal, but officials say they have not determined if the bear actually killed the man or if he simply fell on his remains.

It is in stark contrast to the black bear in Massachusetts, who gently woke a sleeping man in his back yard. Despite many images of bears getting comfortable with humans lately … the danger from wild animals is still very real.
Regardless, the park says part of the hiking trail and the campsite where the remains and the bear were found are closed until further notice as an investigation is ongoing.
