Amber Heard‘Aquaman 2”s days are numbered… IF you believe a report claiming she was fired, but her team says it’s a false rumor born out of post-trial vitriol for Amber.
Reports have been circulating over the past week – not from mainstream industry outlets, BTW – alleging the actress has been written out of the sequel, and not only that, but that her role is going to be recast with a unnamed actress, with revivals scheduled to take place soon.
Waiting for your permission to load Instagram media.
It’s total BS, however, according to Amber’s spokesperson… who tells us, “The rumor mill continues as it has since day one – inaccurate, insensitive and slightly crazy.”
As for Warner Bros — the studio that would make the appeal on Amber’s status — we’ve reached out, but haven’t heard back yet.
Here’s the reality check… Amber has no say in how many appearances she makes in the film, or if she’s recast in it. The studio shot all of her scenes as Mera almost a year ago, and they paid her off as well — $2 million, as we heard in court — so contractually, it’s done.
There were rumors that Amber’s screen time had been drastically reduced – word was, during one of the most recent screenings, that she was there for less than 10 minutes… and the head of DC Walter Hamada seemed to confirm that in his testimonybut stopped short of declaring a hard number.
While WB is undoubtedly monitoring any fallout from the lawsuit, it would be a pretty extreme move to recast it.
Although many fans have asked for it, it would be expensive and time consuming…and “Aquaman 2” has already been delayed once.
But, of course, stranger things happened.
Our sincere thanks to
