The death of Alonzo brooks is still a mystery, but his mother believes the cold matter is heating up and that they’re about to get some real answers … thanks in large part to the national attention he just received.
Maria ramirez tells TMZ … as bittersweet as it may be, the timing of the pandemic, as well as the story of her son’s murder featured in the rebooted series “Unsolved Mysteries” on Netflix, was beneficial to the investigation.
Alonzo’s mother says it has attracted so many viewers – with so much interest and support – because of the current situation in the country … and she is confident it will lead to the case being resolved and provide it with some closure.
As we have reported … there have already been major developments this week in the murder case. Brooks’ the body was exhumed in Topeka, KS, tips kept pouring in.
Alonzo was found dead in a cove in May 2004, about a month after his disappearance, after attending a party in La Cygne, KS, at which he was one of the few blacks.
Law enforcement had no suspects or solid answers for the family and the case remained cold until the FBI reopened it this month. He now calls Alonzo’s death a hate crime … offering a reward of $ 100,000 for information leading to an arrest.
