Almost a quarter of the AirAsia group’s annual revenue for 2019 comes from its ancillary and non-airline activities.
Its freight and logistics arm, Teleport, swiveled to provide last mile delivery when the airline went into temporary hibernation during COVID-19.
Now, Teleport is innovating in the middle of the pandemic and has been launched in Singapore.
Founded in 2018 and formerly known as RedCargo Logistics, Teleport is a wholly-owned subsidiary of RedBeat Ventures (RBV), which is the venture capital arm of AirAsia Group Berhad.
Teleport aims to allow everyone – from individual merchants to large businesses – to move goods and e-commerce throughout Southeast Asia and beyond.
Leveraging AirAsia’s vast network of more than 100 cities and 10,000 weekly flights across Asia-Pacific, Teleport aims to digitize logistics delivery and simplify the process for all parties.
After moving here to Singapore, Teleport is expanding its delivery fleet and is now recruiting delivery partners.
On its Facebook page, Teleport is calling on Singapore citizens or permanent residents (RPs) to join their team to help deliver food, groceries and parcels.
According to Teleport, delivery partners will be able to “earn up to $ 60 in just five hours,” which is perfect for those looking for a quick income.
Applicants must be over 18, have a driver’s license and their own vehicle.
