95 NFL players have tested positive for coronavirus since the league began administering tests in the past 4 months … but that number is expected to increase by the hundreds as testing increases, NFL sources say TMZ Sports.
The NFL Players Association revealed the 95 positive tests on its website on Tuesday – and an NFLPA official tells us that’s a cumulative number since the league began testing players and staff 4 years ago. month.
We are told the number does not reflect the number of players who CURRENTLY have COVID.
Several players have tested positive since the start of the pandemic, including Von Miller, Ezekiel Elliot and many more. These players are presumably negative now.
But the league recently stepped up testing and our sources say the league is gearing up for big numbers as the test pool will likely be over 2,000 people.
As one source put it … “With players and staff starting to report and get tested, the number of positive tests is expected to number in the hundreds.”
The NFLPA also noted that all 32 teams have submitted their infectious disease contingency plans – and 8 have already been approved by the NFLPA.
24 plans are still under study.
Teams must have their IDER plans approved before they can allow more than 20 players to enter a team facility.
