MONDAY, November 15, 2021 (HealthDay News) – A young boy who was injured at the Astroworld festival in Houston has become the 10th person to die from a huge wave of crowds at the event.
Ezra Blount, 9, was trampled on at the festival and placed in an induced coma in an attempt to cope with severe brain, liver and kidney trauma, her family’s lawyers said last week. CBS News reported.
“The Blount family mourn the ultimate and incomprehensible loss of their precious young son tonight,” the lawyers said in a statement. “It shouldn’t have been the result of taking their son to a concert, a joyous celebration. Ezra’s death is absolutely heartbreaking. We are committed to seeking answers and justice for the Blount family. But tonight. , we are in solidarity with the family, in sorrow and in prayer. “
Ezra’s family are suing Travis Scott and other concert organizers for negligence, and the lawsuit says Ezra was “kicked, trampled and nearly crushed to death” during the influx of crowds.
“I am saddened to learn of Ezra’s death tonight,” Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner tweeted. “Our city is praying tonight for their mother, father, grandparents, other family members and classmates right now. They will need all of our support in the months and years to come. God give them strength. RIP Ezra. “
Scott and other festival organizers face numerous lawsuits over what happened at the concert. Scott said he would pay the funeral costs for the victims and added he was “absolutely devastated by what happened”.
