9 Telegram Channels To Join

I’m an avid Telegram user and besides using it as a platform to chat with my friends dotted with silly Telegram stickers, I also love that I get news and updates on almost everything.

It depends on the channels, groups and bots you join, however.

We have already compiled a list of useful Telegram channels so that you can grab some great deals and have all the information you need right here.

This time around, we’ve put together another list of unique and interesting Telegram channels that are also worth watching:

1. Singapore Freebies

Founded by Jonathan How, an undergraduate business student at the National University of Technology, it aims to reduce unnecessary waste by making it easy for people to recycle their unwanted items.

As they say, one man’s waste is another’s treasure.

The administrator describes it as a “channel of blessing”. Users can set up any items they want to gift for free, although some items are subject to postage.

It is a win-win situation for all. Less waste means saving the environment, you can clean up your unwanted items and others can have the items they want or need for free.

There are currently over 56,000 listings and items ranging from furniture, clothing, cosmetics to sundries like coupons.

This Telegram bot acts as an on-demand “karang guni” platform.

Gone are the days when you had to wait for the familiar incessant horns of the karang guni men as they circled the neighborhood.

Founded by a group of students from the National University of Singapore (NUS) of NUS Social Impact Catalyst, this bot aims to improve Singapore’s home recycling efforts by partnering with the local “karang guni” community.

“Our karung guni uncles have always been the unsung heroes and the backbone of our home recycling scene, being the point of contact between residents and recycling,” the team said in a Reddit post.

With this bot, you can simply enter your zip code for an eligibility check (they unfortunately only serve the Yew Tee and Choa Chu Kang areas at the moment).

Then you can schedule the home collection for recyclable items. Please note that they operate every Friday and Saturday with limited time slots per day and the time of collection will be approximately 11am to 2pm.

3. SlurpeeBot

Singapore’s heat can get overwhelming at times, and we are often looking for a frozen drink to cool off.

A Slurpee drink mixed with ice is particularly refreshing, but it’s unfortunate that not all 7-Eleven stores have a Slurpee machine.

A Redditor came up with an ingenious idea to create a Telegram robot that allows you to locate the nearest outlet with a Slurpee machine.

Its use is extremely simple – just press the ‘magic button’, share your location and you will get a list of nearby outlets equipped with Slurpee machines.

The store ID acts as a locator pin, so you know exactly how to get to the point of sale.

HDB Build-To-Order (BTO) apartments are a popular choice among aspiring homeowners due to their affordability, although a major downside is its long wait time.

Telegram bot BTO Buddy aims to help you save time by overseeing the BTO unit selection process on your behalf.

It shows which units are popular among the other applicants so you can plan to avoid disappointment. You can also set alerts on your favorite units and get notified immediately once they’re captured.

Additionally, you will receive a summary of all selections in your BTO project at 7:00 p.m. daily.

This bot really helps to simplify the whole BTO process, and all the relevant information for your BTO project can be found with just one click.

5. UglyFood fresh products

When we shop, we tend to choose products that look perfect and overlook those with imperfections.

Although imperfect, these “ugly” grocery stores are still edible.

To help reduce food waste in Singapore, the UglyFood Fresh Produce telegram chain sells surplus fresh produce from their suppliers like wet shelf owners.
